Tri-City Plaza was built in 1969. The shopping center expanded multiple times to include a movie theater and various small shop buildings. In 1989 the center was expanded for the last time to include a Publix Supermarket. The center was configured much like today's lifestyle centers. However, due to the age of the center, awkward traffic and pedestrian circulation, and poor visibility, the center had since become dysfunctional.We now redeveloped the center into a traditional shopping center, keeping Publix Supermarket and adding seven junior anchor and anchor tenants as well as 38,000 square feet of small shops and restaurants. The project was completed in two phases, with Phase One being the construction of the new shops and anchors adjacent to Publix. In Phase Two, some of the current tenants were relocated into the Phase One buildings, and the buildings they currently occupied were razed to create two more anchor tenants and two outparcel buildings. The project is now complete.
